HAPPY HALLOWEEN

This year Rylan was a bat
Paislee has insisted she be Melody, the Mermaid (Ariel's daughter) for quite some time now. I looked and looked for a mermaid costume that didn't look like Ariel. I had no luck so Grandma came to the rescue. Grandma made Paislee's Halloween costume this year. A few pictures from the Trunk'or'TreatWe were lucky to have Cayla, Haylee and Portylnn come with us. I think the kids had more fun passing out the candy then going and getting it!
Halloween night we did some Trick or Treating throughout my mom's neighborhood. Rylan loved it. He did not want to stop until his bucket was full!

RYLAN'S HALLOWEEN PARTY

Rylan got to start of his day at school making popcorn hands. He then got to decorate a Halloween cookie
Paislee also has able to decorate a cookie with a little help from brother
Next he made a pumpkin puppet
To end the day off they had a party with goody bags, cup cakes, pretzels and chips
I would say his 1st Halloween party was a big success

PAISLEE'S HALLOWEEN PARTY

Paislee's Halloween party wasn't quite the same as Rylan's but they still had a great time. There are only her and one other boy in her class so it was fun for Rylan to get to play with them. Paislee's school did a Halloween parade, then back to the class room for some fun Halloween games.

It didn't matter what anyone said to Paislee she was not putting her hands in the wich's brew

NATIVITY SCENE

My mother-in-law found this cute Nativity to cut out on her cricut. Luckily she cut all the pieces and I just had to put it together.

HALLOWEEN WREATH

I just realized I never posted my Halloween wreath. As you can see the kids have been helping themselves to it. The ghosts are out of dumb dumbs and blowpops!

RYLAN'S 1ST PRIMARY TALK

We had not been to church the last couple of Sundays and when the phone rang Saturday night at about 8:15pm I answered it not expecting to hear what I did on the other end. "This is just a REMINDER call Rylan is giving the talk in Primary tomorrow". Well it was not a reminder it was a first time notice. I hurried and jumped on the computer to find something for him to give, not even knowing if he would really get up there and say anything. Sure enough he got right up and gave his talk with confidence. I was so proud of him.

Rylan's talk:
In the October 2009 general conference, President Thomas S. Monson taught us about serving others. He said, “Each of us can do something to help someone.” One way we can help others is to share the gospel with them. When we teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are serving others because we show them the way to return to Heavenly Father. We show them how to feel the love of Jesus Christ in their lives. We share with them how to make and keep sacred covenants that bless their lives. We help them to know the blessings that come from keeping the commandments. When we teach others the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are being missionaries. We are being witnesses that the Church of Jesus Christ is on the earth today. This is an important service to others that will bless their lives forever and fill us with joy too. Pray to Heavenly Father to help you know that the way to come unto Christ is by becoming a member of His Church.

GRANDPA CRAZY

Ray Vernon Zobrist
September 27, 1927 - October 13, 2010

I have wanted to write about about my grandfather for a few weeks but just couldn't get myself to do so. After reading all of my cousins blogs I wasn't sure how I wanted to write my feeling down, but then I came across my cousin Tifani's blog and I just loved how she paid tribute to my grandfather. So I stole a lot of this from her because she can write so much nicer than I ever could. I'm going to start by saying Ray "Wild Man" Zobrist, was one of a kind. You are not a Zobrist unless you have a "nick name". I'm not sure if it was my Grandpa or my uncles who decided each member of the family needed a nick name but I am pretty sure we each have one. Mine would be "B". All 3 of my uncles still call me "B" and to tell you the truth, I love it. Grandpa was the head of our Zobrist clan, he taught us nothing is more important than family. He was my example of how to live life, and do it well. As my Dad said at the funeral, Ray Zobrist lived life large in 30 minute increments. He came to Sunday dinner each week and showed up in time to sit and eat, stayed until desert was served and then was off to my uncles for more desert. Each week my mom told him to sit and relax for a few minutes. I don't think my grandpa truly knew what the words sit and relax meant. We will miss him dearly, but nothing can be more reassuring than knowing he has been reunited with my grandmother after 12 years apart.
It seems odd she has been gone so long, but luckily they were sealed together forever so the rest of us can be too.

I thought in order to pay proper tribute, I would share some of my favorite memories.
Each and every time I saw my grandpa, he would say "You get prettier every time I see you. You look more and more like your mother every day." Even though I knew he said this to each of my female cousins (to the boys he said "You get uglier every time I see you. You know you are to ugly to whip anyone."), my grandpa made me feel pretty.

Another of his favorite sayings was "It's tough to be poor and have to work for a living." It is funny because my Grandpa was so far from poor. We all knew he went to his office to take a nap and go to lunch with his brother. I truly believe that not one day of my whole life did he ever "work" at his office. As a little girl I loved to go to visit grandpa at work because he always had full size candy bars under his desk for us and change in his pocket for the soda machine. I have so many memories of walking into my grandpa's office and watching him play cards with his brothers.

My grandpa loved food. Two of his favorite places, Weinerschnitzel and Wendy's. Another reason I loved to visit grandpa at work was because he always took us to get a hot dog. The man worked on Valley View and Spring Mountain, there were a hundred different fast food places, but yet we went for a hot dog each time we went to lunch. It wasn't to long ago my husband and cousin went to visit Grandpa at work. When my husband called to tell me he went to lunch with grandpa I said let me guess, "Weinerschnitzel". Sure enough I was right. When you sat next to grandpa, it was pretty certain he would be taking a bite of whatever you were eating. But, he also shared. Every Sunday  we knew we could not leave the food on the table until it was time to eat because grandpa had to try everything. He never just tried a little either. I'm pretty sure he had a whole meal while the rest of us waited for the rest of the food to be finished and the prayer.

This summer we spent almost everyday at Grandpa's swimming. Each day he sat on the back porch. I'm not sure how much he was able to see or even how much he heard but I could tell he was in heaven to have us there.

Grandpa had a mustang that we all loved. He loved this mustang as much as all of us grand kids. Not very many people were aloud to ride in the Mustang let alone drive it. While I was away at college I received a phone call from my husband. He had to call and tell me that Grandpa let him drive the mustang down to Wendy's. This was huge!!! I'm not really sure why but Grandpa loved Jordan. I think it may be because they have the same smartalic comments for a lot of things.
One of the things I admire the most about my grandpa was the fact that he had the same best friend his entire life. Dr. Al Noorda and my grandpa have been best friends since the 2nd grade. They went to school together, they served in the army together, they went to college together, and even served missions to Holland together (I still maintain my grandpa rigged this somehow. I mean, what are the chances?). They raised their families together, retired together, and were best friends until the day my grandpa died. I think this says a lot about these two men. You don't have that kind of friendship without making an effort.

I know nothing in this world mattered more to my grandpa than family. My grandpa loved his wife, loved his 7 children, loved his 34 grandchildren, and truly loved his 39 great grandchildren. He loved the little ones. Everything he did was for family. I am proud to be his granddaughter, proud to be a Zobrist, and hope I can lead a life that will make him proud.
This is my favorit picture of my grandparents. This picture was taken in Switzerland. It is the way I picture my grandparents when I think of them.

PURE EXHAUSTION

I don't think I realized how exhausted I really was until I was waiting for a load of laundry to be done in the dryer this afternoon. I sat down in the chair in my bedroom and 45 minutes later Paislee woke me up. My life has been in pure go mode sense the phone rang last Tuesday night. The thought of stopping to sit down never crossed my mind. I had to keep moving at all times. I have 5 posts with just titles because events are happening and I want to post about them but yet taking the time to do so just hasn't happened. I think if I stopped I would have to deal with the loss and right now I am just not ready to do that. I find myself taking a different path as I drive so I don't have to pass places that make this so real. Some how if I don't think about it, it's not real. These last 10 days never really happened. Yet some how I get little reminders slip in my thoughts and I have to face reality. Reality hurts!

24 WEEKS & 16 TO GO

Dear Little One,
Another 4 weeks have come and gone. These last 4 weeks have actually gone by so fast they seem like a blur. Paislee and your Grandma Coache came with me to the doctors this month. The doctor explained to me why I have been passing out and feeling so yucky. Of course you are sitting on the main blood vessel between my organs and my brain, therefore then you chose to move it causes me some problems. I can not tell if you have the hiccups a lot or if you just enjoy doing somersaults all day long. All though I will say every time I grab your daddy's hand so he can feel all movement stops. You are growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts you at just over a pound. Since you are almost a foot long, your body is filling out proportionally and you will soon start to plump up. Your brain is also growing quickly now, and your taste buds are continuing to develop. Your lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help your air sacs inflate once you hit the outside world. Your skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon. You just stay put and keep growing. We will see you in just 3 short months.

Love,
Mommy

GILCREASE ORCHARDS

My mom and I have been trying to plan a day to take the kids to the Pumpkin Patch at Gilcrease Orchards sense it opened October 2nd. Due to some craziness it just didn't happen. We finally made it there last week and were able to bring a few of my cousins along with us. We were amazed at how many pumpkins there were. For the last few years there has not been hardly any to choose from.

REBEL

I decided my life was not crazy enough and needed to add a little more to the mix. So we adopted REBEL. She is a Siamese Flame Point kitten, this means that instead of were they are usually black (nose, tail, paws) she is red. She is 6 weeks old and the cutest little thing I have ever seen. She loves to play and yet also loves to cuttle. Anyone that sees her falls in love.Dad says he doesn't like cats but he sure attached fast to this little kitty

REUNITED

What a beautiful day in Heaven it was today. After 13 years my Grandfather was finally reunited with my Grandmother in Heaven.
