AXTAN'S FIRST WEEK

What an amazing week this has been. Our family has been in heaven with this precious little one joining us. Rylan is so excited to have a brother. Rylan is yet again the best big brother, he likes to help feed Axtan, hold Axtan and pretty much be anywhere Axtan is. It took Paislee a little longer to fall in love with Axtan. I don't remember her first visit with Axtan but from what I have been told, Paislee was not a happy girl about getting a brother. She told everyone she already had a brother and wanted a sister. She didn't want to hold him until I came home from the hospital. She now loves baby Axtan and also wants to help all the time. I am really trying to let her help, but she isn't quite as helpful as Rylan. After we finally left the hospital I went back to my moms for the night. Jordan's sister blessed her new baby on Sunday up in Cedar City, UT. Jordan and I felt like it was important for him to be there to support his sister, so after Jordan got Axtan and I settled in at my mom's, he and Rylan took off for Ut. Paislee loved being back at Grandma's and I appreciated the help. At Axtan's 1 week doctor's appointment he weighed 7 pounds exactly and was still 19 1/2 inches. The doctor said he looked great. Axtan is sleeping good. He is giving me about 5 hours straight through the night and I can function with that. He is always so happy. Heavenly Father sure does know all, he sent me a great, healthy, happy baby and I couldn't ask for much more. These are just a few pictures from the week. AXTAN'S BIRTH

After almost 5 weeks of bed rest and 2 weeks of wondering if today is going to be the day, it was so wonderful to know I was walking into the hospital and coming home with a baby. Thursday (February, 03 2011) we had to be at the hospital at 05:30 am. Once we got there, we checked in and got into the room the nurses got my IV started. I swear the two hours flew by, the next thing I knew I was walking into the operating room. I told Dr. Swainston I wanted to watch him take the baby out of my tummy. Once it was time they lowered the drape and I got to watch as his little head emerged into this world. It was beautiful. For some reason I don't respond well to anesthesia and ended up not remembering much of Thursday. About an hour after the delivery I started throwing up, once I wasn't throwing up I kept falling asleep. It wasn't until about midnight that I started to feel better. When I woke up at 4am, I felt like myself again and was wide awake. Finally I was able to send out texts about our beautiful boy. So I'm sorry if you received a text at 4am that woke you up.

I started making a list of names awhile back but nothing felt like the one. I tried talking to Jordan about different names and he never wanted to discuss names, so I just kept adding to the list. Due to the fact I was so out of it Thursday, Jordan was the one that chose Axtan's name. I added Axtan to the list last week and wasn't sure how I really felt about it, but now I love it. Jordan said he was trying to choose between 2 names and when he said Axtan the baby looked right at him, so he knew that was going to be his name. For his middle name "George", I believe a middle name should be a family name. As Jordan and I were trying to chose a middle name we talked about our father's and grandfather's Jordan suggested using my Grandpa George. I was actually thinking about using Jordan's grandpa's name. Each of our grandpa's means so much to me that it was not an easy decision. Grandpa George is a great man and I am proud to have my son named after him.

I love this picture because I have an amazing husband. With each child he has had to step right up and do what ever our new born needs because I have been so out of it. He never complains and is right there to help. He is my best friend and the best dad my children could ever ask for.

SURPRISE

Today the kids and I had two wonderful surprises. The first knock on the door was the 11 year old girls from the ward to bring us cookies. I was very excited to meet these girls because they will be coming into Young Womens soon.

The next surprise was my beautiful Beehives. I knew we were going to have our class presidency meeting at my house after Young Womens but was so surprised when all the girls showed up an hour earlier than I was expecting. I love these girls and am so thankful for them coming to visit, I have missed them these last few months.

AXTAN'S FIRST BATH

Axtan got his first bath today. It wasn't a real bath because his umbilical cord has not fallen out yet, but I can say he didn't like his bath. Hopefully he will like it better when he can sit in the water.

100 DAYS

Today was Rylan's 100th day in Kindergarden. He came home from school so excited. I can't believe how fast time has gone by.

MATERNITY PICTURES

I have never wanted to take maternity pictures before, but something about knowing this will be the last time I am pregnant made me think I better get some cute pictures. I thought about hiring someone but I decided I would rather use the that money for pictures of the baby, so my mom took these for us.
