AXTAN'S FIRST SWIM
Axtan took his first hottub tonight at Grandma Zip's house. He didn't love it like he does the bathtub, but he didn't mind being in there either.

ONE SET OF FOOTPRINTS
2011 has been a very rough year for our family, but I will have to say that this last week topped the charts. (I should have known it was going to be a bad year when Paislee broke her leg on Jan. 1st) I had a very good friend tell me, if she could take some of my bad luck, trials, and sorrow away and put it on her own shoulders, she would. Now that's true friendship! As I was driving home from yet another bad news appointment the thought came to me that there was defiantly only one set of footprints in my sand right now. Thank you Heavenly Father for helping me through the extremely rough times I have had.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you."

DADDY THE SWING IS BROKEN
Paislee came in the house from the back yard to tell me the swing was broken, it would not go high. I was doing dishes and sent her to tell dad. Jordan and I were both a little confused because the swing set looked fine. Jordan told Paislee to show him why she thought the swing was broken. Paislee sat on the swing and said "Look dad, I am not going anywhere" Jordan and I both started laughing, I guess she was right, it was not going anywhere. Jordan then took some time to show her how to swing her legs and make her self go high.

Axtan this was a tough month on you. Having RSV was not easy on either of us but we got through it. It seemed like you went into the hospital a newborn and came out a baby. You are starting to eat better. You are holding down about 4oz at a time. We started you on refelx medication to help with the burning you have when the formula comes back up. I really think you are a much happier baby now. I have also decided that you are allergic to something in the powered formula, so now you are only premade liquid formula. I still feel like I am constantly feeding you, but it is getting easier. The doctor said we could start you on cereal next month. You are now sleeping better also. You usually go to bed at about 8pm and get up at midnight and 4am and then up for the day about 8am. You are taking 3 to 4 naps a day with a nice long one in the middle while we take sister to school. You are smiling a lot and starting to make cooing noises. I love to hear you talk. Your sister is constantly telling me , "You are a happy little boy". You hate tummy time so I am not sure if you will ever roll over. You seem to have good head control and I think I will put you in the Bumbo soon. It is so hard to believe you have been with us for 3 months. You are the perfect addition to our family. You are now a true member of the family because you have been given several nick names. Your dad calls you George, your grandpa Mark calls you Mohawk, and your Aunt calls you Birdman. Welcome to this crazy family!!!
