This year for Thanksgiving we drove to Ogden, Ut to celebrate with Jordan's mom's side of the family. We drove to Riverton, about 6 hours from Vegas Wednesday night. We stayed with my cousin's family and the kids were in heaven to play with his boys. Thursday afternoon we made the last hour drive into Ogden. It was nice to see the family we don't get to see very often.
The only down side was Black Friday was not a good one. Coming from Las Vegas were there is a Walmart and Target about every 5 to 10 miles, I found out I am a little spoiled. They have a Walmart and Target about every 30-40 miles, therefore there are about 10 times the amount of people in each store. So we were not able to get the things on my Black Friday list. From the time we stopped in Cedar for gas, Rylan wanted to make a snow angel. I really didn't bring his snow gear so I tried to make him forget about it, but that didn't happen. Once we checked into the hotel Jordan took him down to back grass area at the hotel and let him make a few angels while I got a warm bath ready for him.
Even Dad made a snow angel
Friday we didn't do much, just let the kids swim and then headed into Slat Lake to take the kids to Temple Square. The kids had never been and I wanted to show Jordan the South Visitors Center. The lights were kind of a disappointment. Still very beautiful but the church has cut back a lot. Saturday we got up and drove back to Las Vegas. Jordan isn't home very much so I wanted to get home to have his help getting the house decorated for Christmas. We took our time getting home and made a lot of little stops. It really felt like a fast trip but nice to get out of town and have Jordan all to us for 4 days.
