MONTEREY BAY

We decided to drive the coast from Oxnard to Monterey Bay. We were in no hurry and thought it might take an extra hour or so. We were so wrong! What should have taken 3 maybe 4 hours took 8 1/2 hours. The drive was absolutely beautiful but extremely long. We told the kids they could just play in the back of the car so they thought it was a great ride.
It rained through most of the ride and was very overcast so we couldn't see any whales but we did stop and see the sea lions and elephant seals.

This is how Axtan drove most of the way to Monterey

Once we got there, the kids were very excited to see there was a heated pool

My boys
The kids had a great time playing in the bay

We spent one day at the Aquarium

Rylan wanted to make sure Axtan saw everything. It was very cute.

On the last day we were there, Rylan and Jordan went out on a boat whale watching. They were able to see a few humpback whales. They saw more sea lions and otters than whales.

SAN FRANCISCO

I convinced Jordan we were only 120 miles away from San Francisco and we just had to go. Neither of us had ever been and I have wanted to go for a while now. We defiantly have to go back and really tour the place, but we had a great day there. We ate lunch at the end of Pier 39
We played on the Pier
Axtan thought he was pretty big to sit without his carseatWe drove over the Golden Gate Bridge
We found the Tanner house from Full House

We rode the trolleys, by the time we left Rylan was way to comfortable hanging on the sides. We walked Lombard street, then we drove it! The kids had a great time walking through the streets

We were a little disappointed all the sea lions were gone. There was a sign up saying they swim south for the summer to have babies and come back around September.

Rylan counted 6 sea lions, this one just looked so sad!
