A DAY IN THE ER

A few months ago my sister called me to tell me Paislee had fallen and put her teeth through her lip. Of course I flip out leave work drive to meet her, only to see that, yes her teeth did make a little hole in her gums, but probably not enough to go to the Emergency Room. Well, today was a different story. I was making the kids waffles, standing right next to were they were sitting. They like to sit on the counter to eat there meals. We have a spot in the kitchen were it is counter and then right above it it is a bar so there is a little table top for them. I am always standing there watching them eat and never really thought much of it until today. Some how Paislee fell off the counter and landed right on her face. This time her teeth really did go all the way through her lips. She had three gashed in her chin. Jordan and I both have pretty week stomachs when it comes to blood and needles, but I jumped into mom mode, while he ran to the other room. After getting her to spit out her waffle I could see that she would have to go to the Emergency Room. I was still in my pajamas so I ran up stairs changed my cloths and off we went. The ER doctor was really great, he told me that his wife and him were trying to decide if they should by their little girl a helmet because of the number of times she has fallen and hit her head. The doctor used the dermabond glue and put her chin back together. He said that the inside of her lip would be back to normal in the next day or so. As I was driving home I was thinking about all the scrapes and bruises that the kids have gotten and how bad I feel every time something happens to them. Then all I could think was how lucky I am to have such healthy children. If all I have to deal with from here on out is the little things here and there I can count my blessings. I can not express the love I have for my children. I have to leave them every morning for work and each day it is getting harder and harder. I am so thankful that I have a mother and mother-in-law that will watch my children for me so I don't have to worry about who is tending to my children. Grandma is defiantly the next best thing to mom.

That can be scary. So glad you were there. Youre right-if the biggest bumps are cuts and bruises, life is alright. Brenden fell off kitchen counter and scared me so bad. Nice that kids are so resilient.
