After almost 5 weeks of bed rest and 2 weeks of wondering if today is going to be the day, it was so wonderful to know I was walking into the hospital and coming home with a baby. Thursday (February, 03 2011) we had to be at the hospital at 05:30 am. Once we got there, we checked in and got into the room the nurses got my IV started. I swear the two hours flew by, the next thing I knew I was walking into the operating room. I told Dr. Swainston I wanted to watch him take the baby out of my tummy. Once it was time they lowered the drape and I got to watch as his little head emerged into this world. It was beautiful. For some reason I don't respond well to anesthesia and ended up not remembering much of Thursday. About an hour after the delivery I started throwing up, once I wasn't throwing up I kept falling asleep. It wasn't until about midnight that I started to feel better. When I woke up at 4am, I felt like myself again and was wide awake. Finally I was able to send out texts about our beautiful boy. So I'm sorry if you received a text at 4am that woke you up.
I started making a list of names awhile back but nothing felt like the one. I tried talking to Jordan about different names and he never wanted to discuss names, so I just kept adding to the list. Due to the fact I was so out of it Thursday, Jordan was the one that chose Axtan's name. I added Axtan to the list last week and wasn't sure how I really felt about it, but now I love it. Jordan said he was trying to choose between 2 names and when he said Axtan the baby looked right at him, so he knew that was going to be his name. For his middle name "George", I believe a middle name should be a family name. As Jordan and I were trying to chose a middle name we talked about our father's and grandfather's Jordan suggested using my Grandpa George. I was actually thinking about using Jordan's grandpa's name. Each of our grandpa's means so much to me that it was not an easy decision. Grandpa George is a great man and I am proud to have my son named after him.

I love this picture because I have an amazing husband. With each child he has had to step right up and do what ever our new born needs because I have been so out of it. He never complains and is right there to help. He is my best friend and the best dad my children could ever ask for.
