CABIN FEVER

It was 1pm on Friday afternoon, I was sitting in my chair trying to put Axtan to sleep, Paislee was being her lovely whinny self and I was about to loose it.  Just then the phone rang, I could see it was Rachel and I just knew she and Kes wanted to go to dinner tonight.  I was so happy, of course I was good for dinner after the day we had had at our house.  Nope, dinner was not what came out of her mouth.  "LET'S GO TO THE CABIN"  I just laughed, the cabin in the woods with my children, sure why not.  I called Jordan and he had the same responds I did, "sure why not". Rachel wanted to leave at 4pm so I had a lot to do in a very little time.  I worked as fast as I could and we were actually on the road by 4:45pm.  Little did I know the Anderson's were about 3 hours behind us.  We stopped and did some shopping in St. George and did our grocery shopping in Cedar and made it to the cabin about 45 minutes before they did.  Jordan made a fire and we got settled in.  Once the Anderson's got up there, Kes went to turn the water on.  The cabin is a family cabin and the people that used it last did not know how to turn the water off correctly so they pretty much broke the water line. When Kes turned it on, it made a funny noise in the house and then filled the driveway with water.  WE WERE WITHOUT WATER!  By the way, did I mention I hate camping and being cold!!! My type of camping is a cabin with heat and running water.  It actually wasn't to bad, we would turn the water on long enough to fill pitchers and pots with water and flush the toilet. My children and husband ended up getting sick up there, but all in all it was a fun weekend.
Axtan was not a fan of his puffy jacket
Panguitch Lake was frozen over about 15 inches thick so they took the 4 wheelers out to play.  Rylan wanted to go ice skating so he did that.  I sat in the Rino where the ground was completely solid.

We were extremely lazy and it was extremely nice!
We made smores (I love this picture of Blake)

TOY STORY ON ICE

The kids absolutely love going to the different Disney on Ice productions so of course we went to TOY STORY.  The costumes were so good.  This year my Aunt Peggy and her girls came with us.  We started the night at Macyos.
Paislee prefers her icee with no flavor! I enjoy this because this also means no mess.
I haven't talked Rylan into no flavor yet
The Barbi costumes were my favorite

ROAD TRIP

My mom called New Years Eve day and asked what are plans were for the night.  We had none and as she was telling me what my sister's were doing, she said Jessica had gone to California and was going to go to Sea World tomorrow.  There was a deal that if you bought your ticket Jan. 1st it was good for all of 2012.  I told her let's go.  She laughed at me, she had gotten home from California at 1am that morning and knew my dad and brother would never go for it.  She told me if I could get my brother to go she would talk to my dad.  Little did my mom know that the day before my BROKE brother had text me to wish me Happy Birthday and told me he was going to give me the best present money couldn't buy.  Well, I got him!  I reminded him  of this text and told him I wanted him to go with us to Sea World today with NO whining or complaining for 36 hours.  He said he would and was actually excited to be out of Vegas for New Years.  The only thing was Maggie (the girl friend) had to come.  I had to do a lot of sweet talking to get my husband to come, he had a lot of work to do the next week to make up for going but I am so glad he came with us.   At 2pm we all loaded in the cars and headed to San Diego.  The kids were so excited, they actually travelled pretty well.  Once we got down there we went over the bridge to Coronado island to watch the fireworks.  That was a joke.  The fog was so bad that we could see NO fireworks.  It was absolutely terrible driving over the bridge when the fog was so low you could not see the light on the car in front of you and could barely see the wall of the bridge next to you.  We will never be driving on a bridge with fog like that again.  Nothing is worth seeing that bad!

This is how my dad likes to start vacations, a good old fashion wrestling match!

 Waiting for the dolphins
Axtan actually enjoyed watching all the animals
This is how I finally got Axtan to take a nap.  I had to hold him so he could watch Shamu!
My mom bought a bucket of 100 rings.  Do you think anyone of these fools could get a ringer?!?!
NOPE
Although it was 75 degrees, Sea World had a snowy wonderland for the kids!
It was a very quick trip but a very fun trip!  We left at 2pm on Sat. and got home at 2am Mon, but it was worth it!
