HAPPY HALLOWEEN

We started off our Halloween Saturday at the ward Trunk or Treat.  I'm a bad mom and only got a picture of my cute giraffe.
Monday was Rylan's Halloween party.  The whole 1st grade ate hot dogs in the court yard and then went out to play.
After school was over we went to a Pumpkin patch with friends.  The kids could not get enough of the giant slides.
THE CREW (Rick, Paislee, Rylan, Blake)
minus Gunnar & Axtan
After the pumpkin patch we went over to show both grandma's their Halloween costumes.
We spent Halloween night with the Anderson's.  We ordered pizza and then Rachel and I took the kids out while the men watched football and handed out candy. Although I am not sure how much candy they actually handed out, the bowl was still full when we got back.

And of course the cutest little giraffe around!

DADDY'S LOVE

After a long night of Trunk-r-Treating Axtan would not settle down.  He would not let me rock him or lay with him.  Jordan had worked all day and then went to the UNLV football game so Axtan did not get to see him today.  While I was trying to get him to sleep, Axtan kept saying dadadada so finally I laid him in bed with his dada.  It took no longer than 5 minutes for him to fall asleep.  I love these two boys so much.

REFLECTION

October has become my reflection month.  As I was sitting on the couch holding my sleeping (healthy) baby I couldn't hold my emotions back.  What a month of horrible anniversaries this is!  A very dear friend lost her most precious baby boy in October.  Another friend lost her mother in October.  Next came me, I lost my grandfather in October.  Two weeks ago another friend lost her grandmother. Lastly but certainly not least my husband's grandmother is currently losing her battle against cancer.  As I sat and thought about all this loss, it came to me.  I am not alone in this world.  People lose loved ones everyday.  There is just one difference between me and the rest of the world. I believe in the plan of salvation.  I can not thank my Heavenly Father enough each day for the plan of salvation.  To know that there is a plan and that we will see each of these loved ones again.  To know this brings a little comfort but it certainly does not take away all the pain.  I seem to hold my babies a little tighter this month, say a few extra thank you prayers and just enjoy the time I have with my family here on earth.  October is a tough month for me and I do not see it getting any easier, but I do see my Heavenly Fathers plan.

The Day God Called You Home
Anonymous

God looked around his garden,
And He found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this Earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew you were suffering.
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never,
Get well on Earth again.

He saw that the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb,
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, "Peace by Thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

NASCAR TRUCKS

Today was the Nascar Truck Races out at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  I was so excited to take the kids and enjoy the day with some great friends.  Boy was I mistaken. Saying it was HOT does not even explain it.  The kids were ready to go before the races even started.  We only stayed for 35 laps, and in that time there were 4 cautions.  Those 35 laps took about an hour of the race.  We purchased the $6 lemonade and 2 $5 icees, took some pictures and were DONE! It was an experience I don't think I want to do againAtleast not in the heat.

PUMPKIN PATCH

Going to the pumpkin patch at Gilcrease Ranch has become a yearly tradition now.  Every year we get more and more family to join us.

Axtan did not love the pumpkins, in fact he wasn't so sure about the dirt!

We even got Uncle Cody to come this year!

A LITTLE TIME IN THE KITCHEN

We have been very busy in the kitchen lately.  Friday night I put this little treat together for the kids.  Marshmallow pumpkins dipped in chocolate and then gram cracker.  So yummy

I made home made chicken pot pies for dinner.  I am pretty impressed how well they turned out to be honest.
Then Paislee decided to try her own cooking.  As I was walking up the stairs to put Axtan down for a nap Paislee asked me what to push on the microwave to cook a corndog.  I told her 1 0 0 and headed up stairs.  This is not the first time she had used the microwave so I thought she would be fine.  About 7 minutes later Paislee comes up stairs crying.  She informs me that there is smoke coming out of the microwave.  I lay Axtan down and go running down stairs.  The kitchen is filled with smoke.  I open the microwave and find this.  I am assuming the hotdog is the liquid on the plate, I really don't know.  My house now smells HORRIBLE and Paislee is afraid of the microwave.  It was a fun filled afternoon.
