PLAYING IN OXNARD

The kids spent a lot of time on the back patio, just playing in the sand

My Aunt thought it would be great to buy colored bubbles for the kids to play with.  Bad idea!!! We stripped the kids down and only used them once.  I had the blue bubbles and I promise I looked like a Smurf by the time we were done.
The boys had a jumping contest on the sand dune.  Jordan & Jake forgot they weren't 17 anymore.  Needless to say they weren't walking very well that night!
Rylan was so proud of the treasure he found all by himself on the beach.  Yes it is a dead sting ray and yes it is gross!
Love this picture of my grandparents.  They spent most of their time talking walks on the beach.
Had to make sure everyone saw my dad doing dishes.  It was a once in a lifetime photo opportunity

Paislee fell off the bed 4 of the 7 night we slept there

The house had a park at the end of the street
I really think the kids had more fun on the walk home from the park.  Dad would run and then push the stroller down the street.

SANTA BARBARA ZOO

We took the kids up to the zoo in Santa Barbara

The best part of the trip was Rylan got to feed the GIRAFFE

Cody thought Henry's hat was pretty cool

The zoo was in no way comparable to the San Diego Zoo but much better than the Las Vegas one!

MILFORD FAMILY PICTURES

While we were all together we took a few family pictures

My Grandma sent a letter out to all her friends and family and I felt it appropriate to add it to my blog.

June 27, 2011

Hey all.... Just had to show you this picture of our grandson, Henry Joseph Holden! We had a Ruth and George Milford family reunion in Santa Barbara, California, this little guy is Georgia and Kevin's one year old son. Kevin had to be out in California for 10 days or so, and arranged to get a fantastic beach house for all of us to stay in! What a wonderful, wonderful time we had. Different ones came at different times. We were there last Friday until late Sunday afternoon.

I can't begin to describe the house! It was just beyond the imagination!!! So beautiful! Right on the beach, with sand dunes, then the ocean coming in, sailing ships sailing by! The house was two story, all marble and tile. So many bedrooms I lost count. All of Mark & Lori's family...5 kids! 2 son-in-laws, 5 grandkids. Georgia's girls from her first marriage and she and Kevin's year old son in this picture with George and me. In our family there were 14. One son-in-law wasn't there. Cody had a couple of friends.

You wouldn't believe the food! Lori and Holly seemed to be the main cooks with others helping out. Oh the meals we did have! There just isn't anyway to describe how wonderful everything was! We were all HAPPY CAMPERS!!!!

Ruth

P.S. I was the oldest at 82, and Holly and Jordan's little George was the youngest at 5 months.

PICKING STRAWBERRIES

As we were driving to the beach house I saw a sign that said pick your own strawberries. I thought that sounds like a lot of fun for the kids. When I told Jordan about it he told me to wait for him, he wanted to do that too. Little did I know the whole family really enjoyed picking strawberries. I will have to say no one enjoyed it more than Grandma Milford. We had to pull her out of the field. Yes Cody it is a strawberry Portlynn not sure why her basket is empty, the evidence is on her face We sat around and let grandma pick for a little while longerWhen it was all said and done, we made jam!

DIRTY CHIPS

My Uncle owns a potato chip company and he took us for a tour of the plant in Oxnard, CA.
